The Telegram messaging app has released a new update and now allows individual video calls in its applications.
According to the company, the change was necessary in this year of 202 where face-to-face communication became extremely necessary.
In a blog post celebrating his seventh birthday, Telegram described the process required to initiate a video call. Users can turn the video on or off at any time during a call, and video calls are compatible with picture-in-picture mode, so users can continue to browse the app if necessary.
In April, Telegram announced that it would launch group video calls later this year, but there is still no set date for that to happen.
